Friday Night Lights came a little early this year as the Kingfisher Yellowjackets welcomed the Cache Bulldogs and Perkins-Tryon Demons for a preseason scrimmage on Aug. 28. The round-robin style matchup gave the Jackets a chance to test their skills under the lights at home, and the stands were packed with fans ready to cheer them on.
For the players, it was more than just a scrimmage. It was a chance to shake off the offseason, face live competition, and show early flashes of what this year’s team can become. Coaches got valuable looks at rotations and depth, while players gained confidence with every snap.
Though the scoreboard didn’t matter, the intensity did. The Yellowjackets battled hard against both the Bulldogs and the Demons, using the night as a dress rehearsal for the season ahead. Mistakes turned into teaching moments, and big plays gave the crowd a preview of the excitement to come on Friday nights this fall.
The scrimmage wrapped up with plenty of energy and optimism for the season ahead. With strong community support and a team hungry to compete, the Yellowjackets look ready to carry this momentum into their official opener.
Stay tuned as the Jackets kick off their regular season and continue the tradition of Friday Night Lights in Kingfisher.
