Each year during graduation commencement, Kingfisher High School honors the legacy of its alumni by inducting two outstanding graduates into the KHS Hall of Fame. This year, the school proudly recognizes Steve Sharp and Jared Harrison.
Steve Sharp grew up in Kingfisher, Oklahoma, alongside his sister Shari, raised by Jack and Meredith Sharp. His upbringing instilled strong values of common sense, hard work, and respect for others that guided his life and career.
During his time in Kingfisher schools, his mother served as High School Counselor Secretary, giving him a front-row view of daily school life. He enjoyed World and U.S. History taught by Mr. Johnson, studies that later supported his work with leaders at local, state, federal, and international levels.
He graduated in 1982 and earned dual degrees in Finance and Computer Science from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1986. That same year, following the passing of his mother, he began his career with The Boeing Company in financial leadership and operations. He later earned his MBA from Wichita State University, where he met his wife Kim. Married for 35 years, they raised their daughter Kathryn and built a life centered on family.
In 2005, Steve helped form Spirit AeroSystems as it transitioned from Boeing, which grew into a Fortune 500 aerospace and defense company. He served in senior executive roles including CFO, Chief Accounting Officer, Corporate Treasurer, and Chief Audit Executive, supporting global operations and major manufacturing expansions across multiple continents. Today, he serves as Chief Financial Officer for Spirit Defense, a subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting aerospace systems for the United States Air Force and Navy. Beyond his career, he has contributed to the Greater Wichita Economic Development Coalition and supported organizations including Music Theatre Wichita, Junior Achievement, and Habitat for Humanity.
Jared Harrison graduated from Kingfisher High School in 1999 and went on to Oklahoma State University, earning his undergraduate degree in 2004. He completed his Juris Doctor at Oklahoma City University School of Law in 2006.
After being admitted to the Oklahoma Bar in 2007, Jared returned to Kingfisher to join his father’s law practice, Harrison & Mecklenburg, Inc. For nearly two decades, he has served clients in real estate, oil and gas, estate planning and administration, business law, and municipal law.
Jared has built a strong record of civic and professional leadership. He is a past President of the Kingfisher Rotary Club and the Kingfisher County Development Foundation and has served in leadership roles with the Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce and Kingfisher Educational Foundation, where he also served as President. He has also served as Chairman of the Oklahoma Bar Association’s Real Property Section.
His public service includes serving as City Attorney for Kingfisher, Hennessey, Watonga, and other municipalities, as well as general counsel for Cimarron Electric Cooperative and The American Legion, Department of Oklahoma. He served as a White House intern in 2001 during President George W. Bush’s first term. He currently serves as Chief Operating Officer of the Oklahoma American Legion Boys State program, helping expand civic education through hands-on government simulations and contributing to its national recognition. He has also served on staff for the Boys Nation program in Washington, DC.
Jared and his wife Jessica are the proud parents of two sons, Myles and Finley, and are active members of Kingfisher First United Methodist Church.
Together, Steve Sharp and Jared Harrison represent the values of Kingfisher High School through leadership, service, and a lifelong commitment to their professions and community.
