The 34th Annual Bud Pedigo Ranch rodeo took place on October 7th and 8th at the Kingfisher Roundup Club Arena. Both nights started off with mutton bustin’ and calf riding. Kids 6 and under got to face their fears by riding a sheep as long as they could in the mutton bustin’ and kids 7-10 got to live their cowboy/cowgirl dreams by riding a calf like a bull. The winners of each event received a buckle. The events of a ranch rodeo differ from that of a regular rodeo. Different ranches compete against each other in events based on the work they do day-to-day. These events include doctoring sick cattle, gathering strays, sorting and penning cattle, branding calves, and milking a wild cow.
