On October 9th, the 7th grade Jackets faced off against the Weatherford Eagles at home. During the first half of the game, the Jackets put up 20 points and didn’t allow the Eagles to score any. The second half of the game saw the balance shift when the Eagles scored 20 points to tie it up in the 3rd quarter. Unfortunately, two players from the Jacket’s team were injured during this time. Just as it looked like things were headed for overtime, disaster struck for the Eagles as they fumbled the ball which was recovered by the Jackets. This allowed them to drive the ball into the endzone, adding 6 points to their score. Although they failed their 2-point conversion attempt, their defense subsequently held strong, securing a 26-20 victory.
