Some trades are learned in classrooms. Others are passed down over time through long days on job sites, years of experience, and knowledge shared from one generation to the next.
For the Clayton family, plumbing has become exactly that. A tradition built over time and carried forward through generations.
In 1975, when Glenn Clayton worked alongside L.J. Montgomery, where he learned the trade. Some of that experience traces back to early work connected with the longtime Kingfisher plumbing business, Crandall and Sanders, where many of the foundational skills of the trade were first developed.
Warren continues the family tradition alongside his son and daughter-in-law, Chayden and Emily, along with his two brothers, Glenn Jr. and John. Together, they carry on a connection to the plumbing industry that reaches back to earlier generations, including his father, Glenn. Around here, you could say the trade has really run in the pipes of the family for years. As of 2017, Warren’s nephew, Rhen, joined Clayton’s team, continuing the family’s connection to plumbing.
Together, their experience, along with decades spent learning and working within the local plumbing industry, adds up to more than 210 years of combined knowledge. Now that’s a whole lot of years keeping the pipes flowing in the right direction.
Today, that knowledge serves customers throughout the region, covering roughly a 30-mile radius. Their work includes residential and commercial plumbing, septic tank repair, propane services, and a place to pick up plumbing parts for those who prefer to tackle a project on their own. They now offer sewer pipe camera inspections and reports.
Of course, plumbing may not always be glamorous work, but it is work that matters. When something goes wrong with water in your home, people tend to want help quickly. The Claytons understand that better than most.
When asked what truly sets them apart, the answer is simple. The proof is in the work itself.
For this family, the job is not just about fixing a pipe or installing a system. It is
about making sure the job is done right, even the parts a homeowner may never see behind a wall or underground in the yard. Attention to detail and pride in the finished work are values that have been carried through the family for years. In other words, they do not cut corners, and they definitely do not leave a job half flushed.
After decades in the field, they have also seen firsthand how a little prevention can save homeowners a lot of trouble. Watching what gets flushed down the toilet, keeping up with maintenance, and protecting pipes during freezing weather can go a long way toward avoiding a plumbing emergency. As Warren might tell you, some problems are easier to prevent than they are to unclog later.
Nearly fifty years after the trade first became part of the family’s story, the goal remains the same. Show up, do the job right, treat people fairly, and stand behind the work.
