Accident Causes Temporary Highway Closure

On August 4th, just before 9 PM a semi traveling westbound on Highway 33 struck the overhead road while going through the underpass. Authorities responded to the scene and highway traffic was detoured while the scene was cleared. A police report from the Kingfisher Police Department stated that the driver, Rustin Roy Walden of Marlow, was driving through the underpass when the load on his trailer truck the overpass. The load detached from the truck and broke into multiple pieces, which spread across both lanes of the highway. M6 Wrecker & Recovery LLC. assisted with the cleanup and provided some of these photos. There were no injuries reported, and damage to the bridge was minimal. ODOT will inspect the bridge to make sure the structural integrity was not compromised.
