During the Kingfisher County Commissioners meeting on Monday, May 4, commissioners recognized Shauna Rupp with the Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce, along with Chisholm Trail Technology Center students Brooke Barton, Miranda Borelli and Serenity Lasiter, and their instructor, Sarah Edsall, for their work on the Centennial Wall project.
What began as a collaborative effort became a detailed project to restore and modernize the Centennial Wall database. The students worked with the Chamber and Commissioner Mike Sparks to create an accurate, user-friendly record of the commemorative bricks.
Using their skills in spreadsheets and graphic design, the students developed a searchable, alphabetized database paired with a detailed map key. The finished resource makes it much easier for visitors and families to locate names on the wall.
The project is now complete and available to the public through the Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce website and the Kingfisher County Clerk’s website.
This new resource gives community members a simple way to find and honor bricks dedicated to friends and loved ones, while helping preserve an important piece of Kingfisher County history.
