A little over 15 individuals gathered together on September 24th to make a difference in their community. Every month, members of the Kingfisher Tree Board volunteer their time to “beautify” places in our small town. This month, that place just so happened to be Memorial Hall. Brian Walter, Tree Board President, mentioned that the importance of community beautification was displayed recently when Justin Stephenson of Stephenson Insurance Center said during his recent presentation at Rotary that he was first drawn to Kingfisher because of how “pretty” Kingfisher was. For approximately 15 years, Tree Board volunteers have dedicated their time to beautifying Kingfisher once a month, one project at a time. This project marked the first time that the Kingfisher Rotary Club has helped them. Brian said he hopes the Kingfisher Rotary Club will continue to be involved and invites other clubs and any individuals who would like to get involved to call him at 405-368-6775—photos by AAK Maitland Pickle.
