
Andy Evans has had an extensive career in the field of education, holding various leadership positions in different school districts in Oklahoma, with a Bachelor’s degree in Science Education and a Master’s degree in Education Administration from Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
Starting as a Science teacher and progressing through roles such as Principal, Superintendent, and Financial Services Director, Andy has showcased his leadership skills and dedication to improving educational systems. His experience at Kingfisher Middle School, where he worked to enhance the school’s reputation and infrastructure,
During his tenure at Mountain View-Gotebo Schools, Andy faced significant challenges, including a substantial budget loss, which he successfully navigated with resilience and strategic planning. Under his guidance, the district achieved remarkable academic success.
Andy is currently Financial Services Director at Oklahoma Public School Resource Center, where he has worked for the past 10 years. Andy’s role involves developing financial tools, analyzing budgets, providing professional development opportunities, and overseeing federal programs to support school districts.
Andy will take over immediately as interim superintendent for Kingfisher public schools. In a special meeting on Wednesday, October 2, the board of education voted to hire him to serve for the remainder of the year. photo by AAK Maitland Pickle
