Day one of Wrestling Camp 2026 is in the books!
The Kingfisher wrestling programs hosted the first day of camp on Friday, July 10, welcoming wrestlers from Kingfisher, Hennessey, Cashion, and Geary for a day focused on learning, skill development, and growth on the mat.
This year’s camp featured guest clinician Gabe Johnson, a former wrestler at the University of Central Oklahoma. Johnson is a 4-time All-American, 3-time NCAA Division II National Champion, the 2026 NCAA Division II Wrestler of the Year, and the MIAA Most Dominant Wrestler for the 2025-26 season. Campers learned proper wrestling fundamentals, techniques, and takedowns from one of the sport’s top competitors.
The camp also featured former Kingfisher and Cashion wrestler Gant Browning, who currently wrestles at Hastings College in Nebraska. Browning, who will be a redshirt sophomore this upcoming school year, shared his collegiate experience and helped campers sharpen their skills and understanding of the sport.
The camp continues Saturday with another day of instruction, drilling, and competition.
