Carlton Ray Haynes, Jr., was born November 10, 1982, to Ladonna Kay Terrell and Carl Ray Haynes Sr. Carl, as he was affectionately called by family and friends, received his call from God on August 1, 2024, to come home.
Carl attended Kingfisher High School. He received training to become a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) and worked as a CNA at 1st Shamrock Nursing Center in Kingfisher, Oklahoma.
Carl moved to Oklahoma City, where he continued to work as a CNA until he could no longer work because he was diagnosed as blind. Carl was able to work for a company for people who are blind until COVID-19.
Carl accepted Christ and his call to Ministry at an early age. At eight, he started playing the piano for Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. God gave Carl many talents. He played and sang at several funerals and church programs. He told his grandmother that he wouldn’t be able to play the piano when he was diagnosed as being blind. His grandmother said yes, you can because God gave you a gift, and he won’t take it away. Carl was a faithful member of God’s Covenant Church in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. He continued to share his gifts until he moved to Oklahoma City and joined Mother Rogers’s church in Oklahoma City. He was friends with her son Rueben; they sang and played the piano together in Oklahoma City.
Carl was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Nontilee Costello, great-grandpa Charlie Costello, Grandpa, Delbert Terrell, Sr., and Aunt Neva Contello.
Carl leaves to celebrate his life packed full of memories: his mother, LaDonna Terrell, grandmother, Delora Terrell, Kingfisher, Oklahoma; his father, Carl Ray Sr. of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two brothers, Christopher Haynes (Kevonda), El Reno, Oklahoma; Curtis Lofton (Jennie) of Edmond, Oklahoma, two uncles, Bill Eugene Terrell (Shalla), Okeene Oklahoma, Delbert Jr. Terrell (Kelly), Washington, DC, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and family.
A Celebration of Carl’s life will be 11:00am, Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the Nazarene Church, 414 Hill Dr. Kingfisher, OK with burial following at Kingfisher Cemetery.
