The Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce is on a roll. At the September 8 City Council meeting, Executive Director Shauna Rupp shared how the Chamber’s work is fueling growth, building partnerships, and putting Kingfisher on the map.
Over the past six years, Chamber membership has nearly doubled—rising from 138 to 265. That growth, Rupp explained, has translated into stronger support for local businesses, more filled hotel rooms during events, and a noticeable boost in revenue around town.
She pointed to the Chamber’s expanded collaborations with the city, including hosting the annual State of the City address and the upcoming State of the School event with Chisholm Trail Technology Center. The Chamber is also working to brand Kingfisher as a true “Christmas town,” with plans already catching the attention of Oklahoma City media outlets.
Another priority, Rupp said, is attracting a second grocery store to the area following United’s exit—an effort that has been met with community interest and support.
City leaders didn’t hold back their praise. The City Manager called Rupp “one of the top chamber directors” he has worked with, underscoring the Chamber’s growing role in shaping Kingfisher’s future.
