The annual Chisholm Chuck Wagon Gathering was in full swing Saturday, March 25th in Kingfisher. 10 authentic chuck wagons and crews set up in Kingfisher today and cooked up a variety of trail food ranging from stews, chowders, cobbler, pies, and more. All of the cooking was done the way it was back in the day, over an open fire or hot coals in cast ironware. Jason Harris, Director of the Chisholm Museum said, “It looks like we have about 2000 attending this year. The wagons are from all across the southwest and all offered free samples.” Other than food there was live music, gun fights, and exhibits for the whole family.
