OKLAHOMA CITY – Davis Sanders, a junior at Kingfisher High School, paged in the office of Rep. Mike Dobrinski, R-Okeene, from March 2-5.
Davis is the son of former Rep. Mike Sanders and former state Education Secretary Nellie Sanders.
“Davis is an extraordinary young man with an incredibly bright future ahead of him,” Dobrinski said. “Davis grew up in this building and around state government during his father’s twelve years of service to House District 59. He said he wanted to return as a page because he feels a strong connection to the people and the communities in our district. He also said he looked forward to meeting students from across Oklahoma who share his interest in government and leadership. I trust his experience as a page taught him some new aspects of the legislative process and gave him an even deeper respect for the role legislators play in shaping state policies.”
House pages run messages to legislators while they are in the chamber, and they help in their Capitol offices. Pages also participate in a mock session, in which they learn legislative procedure and how to write and present legislation.
Davis is involved in the Kingfisher High School photo club, winning an award for his photography. He serves on the Center of Family Love Teen Board and participates on TAC, an international leadership board. He plans to study international security in college.
