On March 26th, 2024, the Kingfisher Fire Department officially promoted Ryan Gibson as their new Fire Chief. The fire department held a ceremony for him at the Interbank Community Room at 4 pm and started the ceremony with retiring Chief Tony Stewart leading the welcome and flag salute. There was also the invocation, led by Debbie Burpo. The ceremony featured guest speakers, Kingfisher City Manager Jim Thomas, State Representative Mike Sanders, and Senator Darcy Jech. The Fire Chief oath was led by Tony, with the badge presentation assisted by Ryan Gibson’s wife, Ashley, and their kids, Mayce and Wyatt. The reception soon followed with cake and refreshments.
