Earl Keith Garnett, age 82, of Bay City, Texas, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Earl Keith Garnett was born on January 8, 1944, in Shattuck, Oklahoma, to Emile Garnett and Mary Kathryn (Tune) Garnett, both of whom preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to Joye Grabow on June 25, 1965, in Loyal, Oklahoma, and together they shared 60 1/2 years of faithful and devoted companionship.
Mr. Garnett devoted his professional life to the field of education. In 1971 he earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Oklahoma, reflecting his dedication to lifelong learning and educational service. Keith gained a Master of Fine Arts degree from Ft. Hayes State University in 1976. Keith served as a high school art teacher for many years. He was deeply committed to academic excellence and the cultivation of creativity in his students.
He is survived by his wife, Joye Garnett, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; his son and daughter-in-law, Ty and Amber Garnett, of Moore, Oklahoma; and his sister, Rose Garrison, of Colorado Springs, Colorado. He is also survived by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, whom he cherished greatly.
Mr. Garnett was preceded in death by his parents, Emile and Mary Kathryn Garnett; his sisters, Jane Southard and Kathryn Herring; and his son, Curtis Garnett.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., at Sanders Funeral Home, Kingfisher, Oklahoma, followed by graveside services. Arrangements are under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Herring, Jim Herring, Chad Herring, Bud Grabow, Blaine Grabow, and Isaac Garnett.
Mr. Garnett will be remembered for his integrity, dedication to education, and steadfast devotion to his family.
