Phillip Kirk Harris, age 18 of Okarche, Oklahoma was transported by AirEvac to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City Sunday morning and admitted for a head injury. He was listed in critical condition. According to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, Harris was driving a 2011 Dodge pickup southbound on County Road (NS 2740), at approximately 2:45 am and crossed the centerline nearly to the east ditch, and struck a 2016 Volvo semi head-on, driven by Jackie Ralph Shy of Norman, Oklahoma.
Harris was pinned for approximately forty-five minutes and was extricated by Kingfisher Fire Department. Shy was transported by Kingfisher EMS to Mercy Hospital in Kingfisher Oklahoma and admitted for trunk internal injury, and listed in stable condition.
The incident was investigated by Trooper Lane Gossen #805 of the Kingfisher Detachment of Troop J. Assisted by Trooper Justin Noll #760 of the Blaine County Detachment of Troop J, Trooper Kevin Edsall #406 of Troop S. OHP was assisted by Kingfisher County Sheriff’s Department, Kingfisher Fire Department, Omega Fire Department, Okarche Fire Department, Kingfisher EMS, Okarche PD, and AirEvac.
According to the OHP Report, all next of Ken was notified. This is still under investigation and no further information is available at this time.
