The past few days have been a survival test for Kingfisher County.
It has been an extra cold month but on Tuesday, February 18, the cold intensified dramatically. The day began with a bone-chilling low of 8°F along with ice and snow making all travel challenging. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported numerous collisions and many vehicles off the roadways. We awoke to temperatures below 0 on Wednesday with no relief from the road conditions. The weather improved throughout the week but still did not make it above freezing.
