Families across Kingfisher County will have access to free summer meal boxes for children through a program organized by Oklahoma State University Extension and the Kingfisher County OSU Extension.
The program is designed to help families bridge the gap during the summer months when school meals are unavailable. Meal boxes will be available for children ages 1 through 18 who are still enrolled in high school.
According to organizers, the boxes will include nutritious, kid-friendly food items and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
Parents or guardians picking up meals only need to provide the parent’s name along with the names of the children receiving the meals.
Meal box distribution will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at the back of the Kingfisher County OSU Extension Office, located at 300 S. 13th Street in Kingfisher. Organizers say families should “follow the flamingos” to find the pickup location.
Distribution dates include:
- June 1
- June 15
- June 29
- July 13
- July 27
Officials encourage residents to help spread the word so families throughout Kingfisher County can take advantage of the program this summer.
