It has been a busy season for the Kingfisher FFA chapter, and honestly, keeping up with all the contests, trips, speeches, judging events, and accomplishments is starting to feel like a full-time job.
Over the past several weeks, Kingfisher FFA members have been competing all across the state, representing their school in everything from quiz bowls and livestock judging to public speaking and agricultural knowledge contests. And through it all, they have continued bringing home hardware.
One accomplishment that definitely stood out came during the State FFA Interscholastics in Stillwater, where the Kingfisher Ag 1 Quiz Bowl team captured the State Championship title.
The championship team included:
- Rylan Burns
- Hunter Bieren
- Ryanna Ward
- Tyson Evans
- Addi Moore
- Jamie Rivera
The success did not stop there.
Kingfisher’s Animal Science team also turned in an impressive performance, earning 5th place at state against strong competition from programs across Oklahoma.
Animal Science team members included:
- Jayson Heldermon
- Josh Finley
- Hadley Yost
- Carson Swafford
- Chase Boarts
- Ryan Scammahorn
And if that was not enough, Carson Swafford also earned State Runner-Up honors in the 8th–10th Grade General Agriculture division during the state speech contest, adding another major accomplishment to an already impressive stretch for the chapter.
What makes all of this even more impressive is just how many different areas these students compete in. FFA today goes far beyond agriculture alone. Students are developing leadership skills, public speaking abilities, teamwork, problem solving, and knowledge that will benefit them long after high school.
From quiz bowls and speeches to judging contests and livestock events, Kingfisher FFA continues proving it is one of the most active and successful programs around.
More importantly, these students continue representing their school and community with hard work, professionalism, and pride every step of the way.
Congratulations to all of these students and advisors on an outstanding run of success. Kingfisher has plenty to be proud of.
