The Kingfisher BOB-BOTS Team, a powerhouse of talent and determination, took the competition field at the KUE (today) on Saturday, January 11th, ready to test their hard work at the Robotics Meet. Led by their Coaches Melody Kuehn and Kurt Kaya, the team features Savana Reherman, Raiden Clarke, Audrey Heckman, Audrey Long, Will Finley, Finley Harrison, and Josue Garcia—a dream squad of innovators and problem-solvers.
Of course, preparation is a journey. The team’s after-school practice sessions are key, featuring equal parts focus, trial and error, and the occasional shout of, “Why is it doing that!?” Unfortunately, with the Christmas break, a blast of freezing temperatures, and old man winter giving their robot more downtime than they’d planned.
When the final scores were tallied, the Bob-Bots came in 2nd place out of the 7 competitive teams at the meet. More importantly, their performances earned them a spot at Regionals, set to take place at Bridge Creek on February 1st. League teams include Kingfisher, Boise City, Altus (with 2 teams), Canute, Mooreland, Merrit, Freedom, and Turpin.
