OKLAHOMA CITY – Gracie Fuksa and Aliana Lawson paged in the office of Rep. Mike Dobrinski, R-Okeene, from May 4-7 at the State Capitol..
“Both of these young women already have impressive accolades and a heart for serving others,” Dobrinski said. “They proved exceptional at learning the legislative process, and I know they made lasting memories meeting peers from across the state. It was a great pleasure to host them in my office and to help them learn more about state government. I know they’ll both do very well in their future endeavors.”
While they are at the Capitol, House pages serve in the representative’s office and run messages to lawmakers while they are on the House floor. They sit in on floor sessions and attend other meetings, and they participate in their own mock legislative session, writing, presenting and voting on legislation by themselves and other pages.
Gracie is a senior at Kingfisher High School. She is the daughter of Sheila Fuksa.
She has a 4.0 grade point average and is a member of the Oklahoma and the National Honor Society, and she’s received the Academic Merit Medal. She’s been a member of the Red Carpet Honor Band for four years, a member of Jazz Band and Drama Club and has been involved in her school’s journalism program.
Gracie already is a certified nurse’s aide, After high school, she plans to continue her nursing studies at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. She hopes to work as an emergency room nurse.
Aliana is a senior at Lomega High School. She’s the daughter of Mario and Olga Osoria. The family lives in Hitchcock.
Aliana is a member of the National Technical Honor Society, the Oklahoma Energy Resources Student Board and is a two-time state champion and a two-time all-stater and Miss Oklahoma International.
Aliana is already a certified nursing assistant. After high school, she plans to attend the University of Central Oklahoma to study public health with the hope of becoming a physician’s assistant. She also would like to travel the world, doing missionary work and advocating for others.
