The City of Kingfisher is moving forward with Jonah Humes as its next city manager following action by the Kingfisher City Council during its regular meeting Monday, August 10.
The council’s decision comes after a search that drew 21 applicants for the position.
During Monday’s meeting, council members entered executive session to discuss the procedures required for interviewing and selecting a candidate. After returning to open session, the council voted unanimously to move forward with hiring Humes, pending approval of his contract.
The city will now complete the remaining formal steps and finalize the employment agreement before Humes officially takes the position.
