IN MEMORIAM OF JIMMY CARTER

The Kingfisher High School had a memorial service early the morning of Wednesday, January 15th for the 39th President of the United States, James Earl “Jimmy” Carter.

Natalie Garrett gave the opening and closing remarks while Interim Superintendent Andy Evans reflected on the time he met the President (elect at the time) and spoke of his character. Former State Representative Mike Sanders gave some background on who Jimmy Carter was and the great impact he had not only on our nation and its people but worldwide.

The KHS Band performed many patriotic songs including the U.S. Navy Anchors Aweigh song in honor of his service, The Star Spangled Banner, and Taps.

Jimmy Carter was known for being a decent man, mainly know for his work after his presidency. James Earl Carter was the longest living president in US History and passed away at the age of 100 on December 29, 2024. Photos by AAK Maitland Pickle.
