John Louis Yost, age 50, of Loyal, Oklahoma, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 5th, 2022, after a courageous battle with congestive heart failure. John was born November 18th, 1971 to Rebecca Sue (Pruett) Yost and Louis Ray Yost in Kingfisher, Oklahoma.
John had a creative mind and was always thinking outside of the box. When he wasn’t contemplating some new invention, he could be found spending time in the garden both as a kid and later as an adult. He enjoyed spending time with family exploring places like museums, Celebration Station, the Omniplex, Zoo, and Roman Nose State Park. Later, he especially enjoyed camping with his wife Kimberly and son Lester. His curiosity and eagerness to learn new things led him to spend time exploring his family genealogy, and he loved sharing his findings with his family. He enjoyed passing time by playing video games.
John served in the Army National Guard before going to work for CMI in Oklahoma City. Afterward, he became a cross-country truck driver for Werner Enterprises. He later worked for Biggs Backhoe Service before returning to truck driving in Kingfisher for LuGreg Trucking. One thing that was always said of John by all of his employers was that he was a hard worker, dedicated and passionate, always giving 110 percent.
John is survived by his wife, Kimberly, of the home, daughter, Rebecca Nuckels and husband Cameron of Yukon, son, Kaleb Yost of Newark, New Jersey, and son, Lester Yost of the home. Father, Louis Yost of Omega, Parents-in-law, Jo Kochenower and husband Leon of Loyal, sister, Lora Baker and husband Dennis of Kingfisher, brother-in-law, Gary Kochenower and wife LaShawn of Kingfisher, Nieces, Kori Perez and husband Diego, and Kelsi Hanvold and husband William, all of Kingfisher, Cloi Kochenower of Kingfisher, great-niece, Auden Zapata and great-nephew, Beckett Hanvold, both of Kingfisher.
John was preceded in death by his mother, Rebecca Yost, grandparents, Carl Yost, Marie Murphy, Bernard Pruett, and Ima June Newton.
A celebration of life will be held at Kingfisher Church of the Nazarene, 414 Hill Drive, Kingfisher, on April 12th, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Kingfisher Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Liles officiating.
