Josephine “Jo” Gassen of Okarche, OK passed peacefully on June 27, 2023, in OKC, at the ripe ole’ age of 93. She was born on July 11, 1929, in Okarche, OK to Theodore and Frances (Klein) Gassen.
Jo was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and a graduate of Holy Trinity High School. She resided in Okarche her entire life up until seven years ago when she moved to Village at Oakwood in OKC.
Jo enjoyed musical theater, trying new restaurants and playing cards and games around the table with family. Some of her favorite pastime activities included reading, working puzzles, and embroidering. Jo quickly became the number one fan of the OKC Thunder basketball. She carried this fan ship into Oakwood, where she enjoyed watching the game and socializing with her new friends.
Jo was a great worker throughout her life, with many years at Okarche and Kingfisher hospitals. She also cleaned the Okarche bank for years.
Jo was proceeded in death by her parents, Theodore and Frances (Klein) Gassen; Her sisters, Margaret and Claude, Theresa and Robert, Cecelia and Wayne, and Bernadette and Larry; Brothers, Bart and Eva, Henry and Betty, and Paul and Joan, and a number of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She is survived by a very large family of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews that love and adored her.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30am, Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with burial following at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
