The Kingfisher community came together in a big way to support local students and educators.
During the annual Meet the Jackets Night on Wednesday, August 5, the Jacksons of Kingfisher family presented Kingfisher Public Schools with a $5,400 donation benefiting the Kingfisher Parent Teacher Organization.
The money was raised through the inaugural K-Town Showdown Disc Golf Tournament, held at New Field Park. Jacksons of Kingfisher Chevrolet GMC, Sunrise Café and other community supporters joined forces to organize the event and help make its first year a success.
Premier sponsors included Johnsons of Kingfisher, Odells Automotive, Dsignz Custom Screen Printing, Sunrise Café and Jacksons of Kingfisher, along with numerous other sponsors, participants and community members who contributed to the fundraiser.
The event was another example of Kingfisher businesses and residents working together to invest in their community. With $5,400 going directly to support the Kingfisher PTO, the inaugural K-Town Showdown turned a day of friendly competition into something that will benefit local students and educators.
