Congratulations to the Kingfisher High School Academic Team, who have qualified for Area for the first time since 2016! On Saturday, November 15th, 2025, at Jones High School, the team placed 4th in the 4A region after facing tough competition from Weatherford, Jones, OCS, and Clinton. They earned impressive wins over Weatherford and Jones, and though they fell to OCS and Clinton, their determination and teamwork secured their spot at the next level, an achievement worth celebrating.

The team’s advisor is Melinda Rowen.
The team competes in a quiz bowl-style format of 4 quarters, answering challenging questions on science, literature, history, pop culture, and more. They have just 10 seconds to solve complex math problems, with teammates conferring only during the 2nd and 4th quarters. Many adults would find these questions difficult, making the students’ performance all the more impressive.
Area competition will be held at Jones High School on January 17, 2026, and spectators are welcome.
