The sounds of music filled the halls of Kingfisher High School on Saturday, August 23, as the KHS Choir hosted its annual All-State Workshop. More than 100 junior high and high school students from across Oklahoma—including Marietta, Laverne, Edmond, Guymon, Bethany, and others—came together for a full day of preparation and learning.
Clinicians Dr. Karsten Longhurst (Oklahoma City University) and Mr. Kenneith Stock (Edmond North High School & Canterbury Youth Voices) led the sessions, guiding students through the skills they’ll need for upcoming regional auditions in September and all-state auditions in November.
The workshop was made possible thanks to the support of Mrs. Owens, who provided the band room for the high school session and the choir room for the junior high singers.
In addition to sharpening audition skills, the event also served as an important fundraiser. Proceeds will help send the KHS Choir to New Orleans later this year, where they’ll compete on the national stage.
With more students attending each year, the All-State Workshop has become a growing tradition—one that strengthens young voices and sets the stage for future success.
