TURTLE RACES, SACK RACES & BALLOON TOSS

On July 4th at Homer Field, several events took place in the afternoon. These included turtle races, sack races, and the balloon toss, and people of all ages participated. The Kingfisher Lions Club sponsored the annual Turtle Races, and the winners were Austyn Hudson, Kaizer Wallace, and Teegan Wittrock. The age groups for each event were 5 and under, 6-9, 10-15, and 16 and up. The Sack Races were sponsored by the Kingfisher Rotary Club and were enjoyed by all. During the balloon toss, adults joined in to help their kids rather than having a separate event for themselves.

On July 4th, the Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce had their 2nd ever-Home Run Derby at Homer Field. This highly anticipated event saw an impressive turnout, with local families and baseball enthusiasts gathering to enjoy a day filled with athleticism and community spirit. With the resounding success of this year’s derby, the Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce has decided to establish this event as an annual tradition, promising to bring joy and excitement for years to come. The carefully planned competition featured two age groups for girls and four age groups for boys.

FREE FUN FOR EVERYONE! On Independence Day in Kingfisher, there is something for everyone! Free train rides, free face painting, free play, free swimming, all day inflatable passes. The City of Kingfisher dusts off the old Kingfisher Railroad train twice a year, and it’s always a good time. This year, the high school art teacher, Melody Wilfong, along with some of her students and helpers, did free face paintings for all. The Playground of Dreams was filled with laughing kids and loving families, and the pool was open all day for everyone to enjoy. Jacket Inflatables also brought out a couple of their fun inflations and offered all-day passes. It sure was a great day to be at the park!
