2025 CHAMBER STATE OF EDUCATION LUNCHEON
The Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual State of Education Luncheon at Chisholm Trail Technology Center, featuring updates from Kingfisher Public Schools Superintendent Andy Evans and Chisholm Trail Technology Center Superintendent Kurt Thomas. Evans reported that the district has adjusted its post-ESSER budget for long-term sustainability, is working to pay off a major judgment by early 2024, and continues to use Literacy and Inspire grants to strengthen instruction. He also highlighted student success in academics, athletics, and CareerTech partnerships, noting the district’s chronic absenteeism rate remains below the state average. Thomas shared updates on expanding CTTC programs in electrical trades, welding, construction, and cosmetology, with 44% of Kingfisher juniors and seniors enrolled. Student speakers Avery Snider (Cosmetology), Jozie Loewen (Health Careers Certification), Andrew Takape
(Electrical), and Loren Smith (Practical Nursing) spoke about their programs and what they have learned so far, emphasizing hands-on experience, technical skill development, and preparation for future careers. The Chamber also announced upcoming events, including the Coffee Vibe finale next Tuesday, the End-of-Year Member Mingle on December 6 (RSVP required), and the Shop Local campaign running November 1–20 with a $1,000 prize. The luncheon highlighted strong collaboration between schools, businesses, and community leaders in support of education and workforce development.
