Kingfisher County OHCE members met for their annual Spring Council meeting on March 12th at the Scissortail Crossing Events Venue in Kingfisher. Omega OHCE served as the host group.
Dot Miller, County OHCE President presided over the business meeting. Jamie Akenhead, ,County OHCE Vice-President conducted the flag salute and OHCE Creed.
The minutes were led by Ashley Cowan Neal County OHCE Secretary as well as a devotion and meal blessing. Desiree Austin, County Treasurer submitted the Treasurer’s report.
Members enjoyed learning the biblical meaning of the number 88, the easter egg, and the easter bunny. Members elected a Best Dressed member presented to Ashley Cowan Neal. Lindy Peterman presented the program on Health Disparities in Northwest Oklahoma. Members enjoyed group pictures, fellowship, and a meal provided by Omega OHCE member Pat Mann.
Lindy Peterman, FCS Extension Educator, went over the 2024 Memorandum of Understanding and the 2024 Diversity plan. She invited the group to attend the state OHCE meeting in July. The OHCE week activity will be a club spotlight every day and there will be a County Fair superintendent training in August for all superintendents and prospective superintendents. Lindy then led the group in a discussion about OHCE, the future of OHCE, and anything the members wanted to express. There is also a Facebook page for all members to use for sending each other important information.
