Big-4 Firefighters responded to a fast-moving brush fire Monday afternoon, February 9, at approximately 2:45 p.m., and quickly requested additional assistance.
The fire was located near the intersection of E 760 Road and N 2930 Road in Kingfisher County and was spreading rapidly toward the Cimarron River.
Mutual aid was provided by fire departments from Cashion, Dover, Kingfisher, Twin Lakes, Deer Creek, and Crescent, along with the Kingfisher County Sheriff’s Office. M-6 wrecker Service also assisted on scene. Kingfisher County District 1 provided a dozer to help contain the fire.
Lt. Blackburn with the Kingfisher County Sheriff’s Office operated the county’s Emergency Management drone, giving firefighters an aerial view to better track the fire’s movement and coordinate suppression efforts.
No structures were damaged, and the fire was successfully contained.
