Mary Jane Harrison, of Watonga, Oklahoma, passed away on June 21, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born in Oklahoma City on November 29, 1950, to Adam and Roxy Harrison.
Mary was a talented beadwork artist and a gifted author of Native American children’s books. She took great pride in preserving and sharing her heritage through her creative work. She was a faithful member of Watonga Baptist Church and found great joy in her faith, family, and community.
Following her graduation, Mary returned to Watonga, where she made her home. She loved to travel to New Mexico and South Padra. She especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren, creating lasting memories and sharing her love, wisdom, and traditions with them.
Mary will be remembered for her creativity, devotion to her family, and the positive impact she made on those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony Roy Starr; children, Tommie Dale Chapman, Charlie Chapman, Melanie Starr and Toni Starr; grandchildren, Julian Starr, Justise Galberth, Keyila Porter, Isaiah Isaac, Ivianna Isaac and Angel Porter; brothers and sisters, Adam Junior Harrison, George Harrison, Louise Harrison, Scott Harrison and Janelle Harrison.
She is preceded in death by her parents and two grandchildren, Tristan Adam and Precious Sue; brothers, George and Adam Harrison.
Wake service will be Monday evening June 29 at 6:30pm at the Concho Community Center.
Funeral service will 10:30am, Tuesday, June 30th at the in Concho Community Center with burial following at Geary Cemetery in Geary, Oklahoma. Under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service, Kingfisher OK.
