Sunday evening, December 7, was full of holiday cheer as the Kingfisher High School, Kingfisher Junior High, and Kingfisher Upper Elementary bands came together for their annual Christmas concert.
The program offered a little bit of everything — familiar Christmas favorites, newer holiday selections, and even a few fun, lighthearted pieces that brought smiles and laughs from the audience. From start to finish, the musicians kept the crowd engaged and in the Christmas spirit.
During the concert, band director Mrs. Owens took a moment to recognize students who earned a spot in the Red Carpet Honor Band this year. One of the most meaningful moments of the evening followed, when seniors Livia Varnell and Sara Farris surprised Mrs. Owens with a bouquet of flowers, thanking her for the impact she has had on their lives over the past eight years.
The night wrapped up with a high-energy performance of “Metal Bell Carol” by the high school and junior high bands. The drumline stepped into the spotlight with an energetic feature that brought the concert to an exciting and memorable close.
