The City of Kingfisher and the Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce proudly hosted the 2025 Kingfisher Fire Department Groundbreaking Ceremony, celebrating the start of construction on the city’s new fire facility—an investment in safety, service, and community growth.
The event opened with a welcome from Mike Sanders, Executive Director of the Oklahoma Broadband Office, followed by the National Anthem performed by the Kingfisher High School Band and an invocation by Father Benjamin Lwin.
Speakers included Fire Chief Ryan Gibson, City Manager Jim Thomas, and Mayor Geoff Covalt, each honoring the department’s century-long legacy and the promise of continued service.
With nearly 100 in attendance, city leaders and A&K Construction representatives joined in the ceremonial first shovel, marking a proud moment for Kingfisher.
The “Pride of Kingfisher” Band closed with the fight song, followed by refreshments and community fellowship.
