Norman Eugene Chlouber, 83, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 9th. Norman was born in Kingfisher, Oklahoma, on February 21, 1939, to Clyde Chlouber and Helen Sigl Chlouber, both of Kingfisher.
Norman graduated from Kingfisher High School in 1956. He was an airman 3rd class in the Air National Guard from 1956-1962 which sparked his love for aviation, and he later became a pilot and owned a plane of his own.
One day in 1960, Norman was cruising down main street in his red 1959 Ford Fairlane, trying to catch the eye of Janet Kudlac, which he did, and the relationship bloomed. They later wed on January 14, 1961, in Kingfisher at the First Christian Church. Their 62 years of marriage blessed them with three children, nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Norman and Janet started their life together, living in the home his grandparents Rudolph and Rose Chlouber built after the Oklahoma land run and kept the farm sustained for another six decades raising cattle, growing wheat and recently attained the milestone of a centennial farm.
Norman was a man of many adventures, hunting and camping in the mountains, snow skiing and snowmobiling, boating and scuba diving at many lakes, motorcycle clubs, fast cars and airplanes. Norman had extensive knowledge of firearms and was widely known for the gun enthusiast that he was. Norman was also a Charter Member of the Elks Lodge #2416.
Norman was preceded in death by his Dad, Clyde Chlouber; Mom, Helen Chlouber; and daughter, Leigh Ann Ransom.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Chlouber, and two brothers, Dale Chlouber and Clyde Dean Chlouber. His children: daughter, Denise Cramer and husband David; son, Mike Chlouber and wife Rhonda. Then after daughter Leigh Ann’s passing, they welcomed her youngest son, Matthew Chlouber, who they then raised as their own from the age of two.
Then came grandchildren: Melody Kuehn; Beau Cramer and wife, DelRae; Dalton Cramer and wife, Caitlyn; Micahle Ransom; Levi Ransom and wife, Taylor; Matthew Chlouber and Dreamie Taylor; Ashley Vasquez and husband, Josh; Curtis Chlouber and wife, Jody; Dustin Chlouber and wife, Hayli.
Great grandchildren: Casen Chlouber, Emry and Harper Vasquez; Dalen and Jett Cramer; Lucy, Kodi and Hayes Chlouber; Colt and Kenzli Leigh Ann Ransom; and Ava Chlouber.
Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, February 15th, 2023, at 10:30 AM at the First Christian Church, with interment to follow at Kingfisher Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service.
