Digntaries, media and the community are gathered at the Kingfisher Memorial Library this morning to kick off this exciting event.
After the luncheon the ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony begins at 2 p.m. celebrating the launch of this exciting new program from the Oklahoma Broadband Office.
Kingfisher is home to Oklahoma’s first Community PortAccessals and will receive two pods as part of the Oklahoma Broadband Office’s $14.5 million initiative to install up to 175 portals in libraries across the state.
One pod is designed for individual use, while the second is ADA-accessible and can accommodate groups of up to five people.
The private portal pods will give residents secure access to virtual healthcare appointments, workforce resources, job training, and digital skills programs.
Oklahoma Broadband Office Executive Director Mike Sanders will join state and local dignitaries for the celebration.
