Once again, the Kingfisher County Commissioners have extended the countywide burn ban for an additional seven days, from September 14 through September 21, due to continued hot, dry conditions and an increased risk of wildfires.
Open burning remains prohibited, including campfires, bonfires, and the burning of brush, debris, or other materials.
Outdoor cooking with LPG, natural gas, charcoal, smokers, and pellet grills is permitted when using an appropriate grilling receptacle placed on a nonflammable surface and at least five feet away from flammable vegetation.
Please continue to use extra caution. One spark can quickly become a dangerous grass or wildfire, threatening homes, farms, livestock, property, and firefighters.
DON’T TAKE THE CHANCE.
If you’re unsure whether an activity is allowed, contact your local fire department before proceeding.
Please share throughout Kingfisher County.
