KINGFISHER, OK – On August 3, 2023, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation was requested to assist the Kingfisher Police Department with a homicide investigation. Around 4:15 p.m., officers responded to the Cattlemen’s Inn Motel, near West Broadway Avenue and South Main Street, in Kingfisher. Upon arrival, they found a deceased adult female inside the motel. The victim had suffered injuries that were consistent with a homicide. Officers also learned she was residing with 38-year-old Joseph Hayslip.
The Kingfisher Police Department located Hayslip and he was later interviewed by OSBI special agents. Based on evidence and information obtained, Hayslip was arrested and booked into the Kingfisher County Detention Center on a First-Degree Murder complaint.
