Storybook baby showers have quickly become a popular theme, and I couldn’t wait to bring this one to life.
The shower was held at The Gathering, owned by Morgan Winters on Main Street in Kingfisher. It has become my go-to venue for so many events. Morgan has created such a warm, welcoming space, and it was the perfect setting for this storybook celebration.
As guests walked in, they were welcomed by a hand-painted fabric sign created by Lolli herself, setting the tone for the story that was about to unfold.
Each table was inspired by a different classic children’s book, complete with coordinating handmade napkins. Winnie the Pooh, Peter Rabbit, Frog and Toad, Charlotte’s Web, Bambi and many more favorites were represented throughout the room. Many of the beautiful napkins were handmade by Garrett’s Nana, Linda Hazel, adding an extra special touch to each table.
Bringing in Local Talent
One of my favorite parts of creating an event is finding ways to support other local businesses, and this shower was filled with the work of incredibly talented people from our area.
A rented book backdrop from Magnolia Greenhouse created the perfect focal point for photos, while fresh carrots from Buck’s Farm in Piedmont added a fun and fitting touch to the Peter Rabbit theme.
Party favors included adorable baskets filled with fresh mini sourdough loaves from 81 Bakehouse – Bakery & Cafe, paired with little jars of jelly or raw honey from WR Honey Farm in Okeene.
The decorated cookies were created by Lorrie Blagg of Piedmont, my favorite for custom cookies. She has a way of taking an idea and bringing it to life every time.
The floral corsage, complete with tiny storybooks to match the theme, was designed by Lolli and brought to life by The Flower Lounge By Shannon & Co. They never shy away from my crazy, out-of-the-box ideas. Somehow, they always manage to make them even better.
The food table was beautifully put together by Kari Friesen of Kingfisher, who has recently started creating charcuterie tables. She did a wonderful job bringing everything together and creating a spread that was just as beautiful as it was inviting.
And if you’ve ever been to one of our events, you’ve probably met our tiny boss, Mabel. She spends the day making sure everyone is doing their job and accepts payment exclusively in snacks.
I also have to give a huge thank you to Davin, who has become such an important part of putting these events together. It’s funny because this whole journey really began with her baby shower. Now, it feels like everything has come full circle.
More Than Decorating a Room
People have always called me extra and over the top. They’re probably right. But that’s exactly what you get with Lolli & Co Events.
For me, it has never been about simply decorating a room. It’s about creating an experience. It’s about those little details people remember long after the party is over, the ones that make someone stop, smile and feel something.
This wasn’t just a baby shower. It was a room filled with stories, local businesses, handmade touches and so much love for baby Weston, whose next chapter is just beginning.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this day so special. It truly takes a village, and I’m grateful to be surrounded by so many talented people.
If you have questions about any of the details, rentals, vendors or custom pieces used for this shower, feel free to reach out. I’m always happy to point you in the right direction or help create something unique for your next event.
At Lolli & Co Events, we believe every celebration deserves its own story.
