PRO KINGFISHER GRAD MAKING PROFESSIONAL MMA DEBUT

Gabe “The Freight Train” Rednose, a 2016 Kingfisher high school grad, has been gaining recognition in the Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) world. Gabe has wrestled since he was in the 5th grade. He is currently ranked 1st light heavyweight in the U.S. and Latin America, according to his profile on Tapology. He currently trains under retired MMA fighters Joe “Daddy” Stevenson and Rafael Lovato Jr.

Rednose made his fight debut in Rage in the Cage on September 8th, 2018 at Lucky Star Casino. He needed only one minute and thirty-six seconds to defeat Cody Ledbetter by submission. Months later, Rednose was able to punch his way to victory over Oscar Delcid, which earned him the Gladiator Cage Fighting heavyweight title. Following a loss in April 2019, Rednose recovered two weeks later with a successful first-round knockout of Phillip Rutledge that secured him the Rage in the Cage heavyweight championship. Unfortunately, COVID-19 hindered any chances of fighting in 2020. Although he wasn’t able to fight in 2021, Rednose worked hard to improve himself physically. His efforts paid off when he won back-to-back fights in 2022. At an event in Bentonville, Arkansas on April 16, 2022, retired MMA fighter Joe “Daddy” Stevenson noticed Rednose’s talents and selected him for the American team competing in the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) Pan American Championship in Monterrey, Mexico two months later. His first round against Ronnie Chadband ended after 1 minute and 29 seconds with a knockout win for Rednose. Unfortunately, he was forced into submission at 55 seconds during his second fight when Aaron Rios applied a knee bar.

After a few matches were called off earlier this year, Rednose came back to the ring on August 19th at Hendo’s Fight Night in Temecula, California. He had a first-round knockout in the first fight against Brad Hamilton. After his second fight of the event, he earned himself both the California Amateur Mixed Martial Arts Organization (CAMO) and Hendo’s Fight Night cruiserweight titles when he made Trae Cusac submit in the second round, granting Rednose victory over his previously undefeated opponent.

Gabe’s current record sits at 9-2-0 (Win-Loss-Draw) according to his Tapology profile.  “The Freight Train” steams ahead with his debut bout in the pro circuit on December 15th in San Diego at the Cage Warriors 165 event. Cage Warriors is an Irish-owned MMA company based in London. Many MMA notables have established themselves with Cage Warriors, including Conor McGregor.
