Retha Ann (Harvey/Mansfield) Vogt

Retha Ann (Harvey/Mansfield) Vogt was born on March 21,1934 in Independence, Kanas, to Carrol and Mary Alice Harvey, later to be adopted by Leo and Sarah Mansfield after their passing when she was 13, along with her 3 siblings; Rose, Raymond, and Betty moving them to Oklahoma. She attended and graduated from Holy Trinity Catholic School in Okarche, where she later met Leo Vogt, marrying him on November 25, 1955, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. They moved to the farm NW of Okarche, where they raised their 3 children, Don, John, and Lisa, and were married for almost 44 years. She later moved to Ashton on the Greens in El Reno for several years. As she struggled with dementia, she moved and stayed with her daughter’s family until she moved into an assisted living facility, eventually to a nursing home where she continued to struggle with Alzheimer’s. Finally, she was moved back to her daughter’s home under Living Care Hospice, which provided wonderful care and support. She went to be with the Lord very peacefully on August 25th, surrounded by family.

Retha was preceded in death by her natural parents, adopted parents, siblings, husband Leo, and granddaughter; Christie Ann Vogt Sibit.

She is survived by her children; Don Vogt and Sonda Mitchell; John Vogt, wife Lisa, all of Kingfisher; Lisa Suiter, husband Terry of Blanchard. Grandchildren; Kyle, wife Morgan, Brent Suiter, and Christie’s husband, Michael Sibit. Great-grandchildren; Matthew Vogt, Landyn Suiter, Cole and Savannah Sibit along with loads of family and friends.

She will be laid to rest on August 30 next to Leo at the Okarche Holy Trinity Cemetery.
