On March 8th, Kingfisher Cub Scouts Troop 196 hosted the Kingfisher County Pinewood Derby. The troop had eight scouts and nine non-scouts participating. Each participant started with a block of wood and designed their own race car, which could weigh no more than five ounces. Throughout the building process, they learned about weight distribution and showcased their unique designs.
The Pinewood Derby is an annual event that every pack participates in. Troop 196 has been hosting and participating in this event for so long that they’ve lost count; however, they know they have been involved for over 20 years. Look out for next year’s Derby and come take part!
