If you’ve seen this trailer around town, you’ve probably wondered what it was. Meet Red Tail Ridge Coffee Co., the newest venture from 81 Bakehouse Bakery & Cafe.
Owner Curtis Walker was looking for a way to reach more coffee-loving customers, and going mobile seemed like the perfect fit.
Curtis loves coffee, but more importantly, he wants every cup to be consistent. He wants customers to know they can count on the same great cup of coffee. Every. Single. Time.
Curtis remembers drinking coffee with his dad when he was young. He spent 10 years growing up in England, where he developed an appreciation for good tea. That appreciation eventually grew into something even richer: coffee.
What he discovered was that he truly enjoys making and drinking it, even cowboy coffee.
I had a feeling I knew what cowboy coffee was, but I wanted to be sure I had it right. For anyone else who may not know, Curtis described it as the kind of coffee where you can stick a spoon in the cup, and it will stand straight up. But if you ask Curtis if he’s a coffee expert, he’ll quickly tell you he’s still learning.
“Some may think coffee is simple, but really, it’s not,” Curtis said. “There are so many things that go into making it correctly, from the right temperature to the equipment you are using.”
One thing Curtis made sure to mention was his team. He says he couldn’t do it without baristas Jude and Asa, along with manager Connor, who help make sure customers have the same experience every time, whether they’re visiting 81 Bakehouse or Red Tail Ridge Coffee Co.
Since 81 Bakehouse is closed on Mondays, Curtis plans to have Red Tail Ridge Coffee Co. parked in the Kingfisher Atwoods parking lot, giving coffee lovers another place to grab a cup at the start of the week.
The trailer will be stocked with all your favorite brews. It may not always carry all the baked goods found in the mouthwatering case at 81 Bakehouse, but it never hurts to ask; they may just have what you’re looking for.
You can also talk to Curtis about events, parties, and weddings. Red Tail Ridge Coffee Co. is happy to set up right where the action is.
Whether you catch Red Tail Ridge Coffee Co. around town or book it for your next event, you’ll be getting the same coffee so many of us have come to know and love from 81 Bakehouse, just served from a different window.
