Kingfisher County District 2 Commissioner Mike Sparks announced Friday, September 19, that several major roads are now open, including Dover Crescent Road, Beard Blacktop, and Sheridan Blacktop. Additional work is planned, such as a two-mile overlay from the Cimarron River Bridge into Dover, funded primarily through state and federal CED grants. Upcoming projects include chip-sealing a loop from Highway 81, Conoco Road, Mitchell Road, and Exxon Road. Plus additional work on Cemetery Road, Exxon Blacktop, and Boundary Street in Dover. Looking ahead, a new bridge is scheduled for Beard Blacktop in 2027, replacing washed-out pipes and protecting the road from future damage.
