It was a big day for Scout Snodgrass and the Kingfisher High School community as she officially signed Wednesday, May 6, to continue her academic and athletic career at University of Tulsa.
Surrounded by family, friends, teammates, coaches, and school administrators, Snodgrass celebrated the next chapter of a journey that has already become one of the most impressive athletic careers in Kingfisher history.
Scout will compete in track and field for the Tulsa Golden Hurricane after a standout high school career that drew attention from programs across the region and beyond. Over the past several months, she visited and considered opportunities from schools including Missouri State University, University of North Texas, University of Texas at San Antonio, Rogers State University, United States Military Academy, and several others before ultimately deciding Tulsa was home.
And honestly, it is easy to see why so many schools were interested.
Over the course of her high school career, Scout has become one of the most decorated athletes the program has ever seen. Year after year, she consistently medaled in track events while also earning podium finishes in cross country each season. No matter the stage or the competition, she showed up ready to compete.
But what makes Scout’s story even more impressive is that her success did not stop on the track or cross country course. She also earned academic state honors throughout her high school career, proving she could balance elite athletic performance with excellence in the classroom.
That combination of talent, discipline, and work ethic is exactly what college programs look for, and exactly what made her stand out.
Even with the signing complete, Scout’s high school story is not over just yet. She still had one final opportunity to represent Kingfisher at the state track meet May 9–10 in Catoosa, adding one more chapter to an already unforgettable career.
For Kingfisher fans, coaches, teammates, and family members, watching Scout compete over the years has been something special. From early morning practices to long bus rides, tough races, and big finishes, she has represented her school and community with class, determination, and heart every step of the way.
Now, she gets the opportunity to take that same drive and talent to the collegiate level.
Congratulations, Scout. Tulsa is getting a great one. Photos by AAK Maitland Woody.
