The State of Education BizConnect Luncheon put on by the Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce was hosted at the Chisholm Trail Technology Center on October 29th.
Andy Evans, the Kingfisher Public Schools Interim Superintendent discussed Kingfisher Public Schools’ attendance, performance metrics, and estimated revenue. He identified some areas for improvement, but overall, stated that Kingfisher Public Schools is flourishing.
Brittany Crane, Oklahoma CareerTech Coordinator, spoke briefly about the value of CareerTech programs and expressed her passion for helping students who are interested in the program. She stated that she loves to help guide students on the right path to their bright futures.
Kurt Thomas, CTTC’s Superintendent, delivered exciting news about CTTC’s future. He announced they are currently in construction mode, adding an Electrical Trade program, a larger welding facility, and a Construction Trade Program.
Four Kingfisher seniors were chosen to share their experiences and future plans at CTTC. Donte Almanzar is a second-year student in Digital Technologies, focused on Desktop Publishing and Graphic Design, with plans to attend Redlands in the future. Brayden Osterholt, a second-year student in Pre-Engineering, aims to pursue Environmental Engineering despite uncertainties. Angela Munoz, a second-year Cosmetology student, plans to study Business in college to open her salon one day. Keira Laudwig, a first-year Health Careers student, is training to become a Certified Nursing Assistant and intends to progress to become a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery after completing CTTC’s LPN program and SWOSU’s bridge program

Thomas presented the Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce’s President, Shauna Rupp with a gift made by the Cabinetry Program. Shauna was overjoyed and expressed her appreciation, stating that she can’t wait to hang the custom gift at the Chamber of Commerce office.
