Stephanie Katie Buckles 53, of Okarche, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2025, after a courageous two-year battle with stage IV cancer. Stephanie was born on October 9, 1972, at Okarche Hospital. She grew up in Chattanooga, Oklahoma, proudly graduating as a Chatty Warrior—a title she carried in spirit throughout her life. She later made her home in Okarche, where she became a beloved member of the community.
For more than 30 years, Stephanie devoted her life to caring for children as a daycare provider. Her patience, compassion, and gentle heart touched countless families, leaving a lasting impact on every child who passed through her care.
Stephanie was a devoted wife and best friend to her husband of 35 years, Wesley Buckles. She was a loving and supportive mother to her two sons, Connor William Buckles of Jacksonville, Florida, and Kane Allen Buckles of Kingfisher, Oklahoma. She especially cherished her role as “Grandma” to Asher William Buckles and Ellie Lavonne Buckles, who brought tremendous joy to her life.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Owen O. Major and Katie Cleo “Granny” Major, and her grandparents, Carlos and Ruth Baustert.
Stephanie was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Visitation will be held at Sanders Funeral Service on Sunday, November 30, 2025 from 1:00 – 6:00 PM
