On the Fourth of July, Trenton Swenn, a dedicated volunteer firefighter with the Shattuck Volunteer Fire Department, was helping serve the community during holiday festivities when a propane smoker exploded while firefighters were preparing food for an event. Trenton suffered serious burns and was taken to Shattuck Hospital before being transferred to the OKC Burn Unit on Monday, July 6, where he continues to receive treatment.
Due to the severity of his injuries and the risk of infection, Trenton is currently unable to work.
Journee and Trenton are raising their 21-month-old son, Knoxyn, and are expecting their second child, Landry, in just a few short weeks. Journee is a 2019 Hennessey High School graduate and, before attending Hennessey Schools, was a student at Kingfisher Public Schools. She has strong ties to the surrounding communities, and now their family could use that same support and kindness in return.
